About the designer

Leo Chevalier was a Montréal designer who played a formative role in the fashion industries of both Quebec and Canada as a whole. He began his career as a window dresser in the 60s and designing costumes for the Montréal Theatre Ballet before presenting his first collection in 1963. After briefly establishing a couture house in 1969, Chevalier turned to the more popular avenue of ready-to-wear, and became renown for his many collaborations and elegant designs. His garments are structured, simple, and classic, reflecting an education in the arts and a refined admiration for high-quality construction.
